GENERAL TERMS OF SALE
1. An exhibition featuring all lots will precede the auction, allowing clients to examine authenticity, provenance, condition, and quality, and suggest corrections to catalogue inaccuracies. During the exhibition, our director and staff will provide additional information or guidance. Buyers must inspect lots thoroughly, with expert assistance if needed, before participating. Once sold, no claims will be accepted, and neither the seller nor Czerny’s International Auction House will be liable for errors or omissions in the catalogue.
2. Condition statements are provided as a courtesy and reflect opinions, not facts. Absence of such a statement does not imply perfect condition.
3. Images are provided for convenience but may show color variations due to lighting, screens, or printing. We strongly recommend viewing items in person during the exhibition.
4. In compliance with the Fifth European Directive on Money Laundering, payment must be made by the invoice holder, and invoice names cannot be changed after the auction.
5. Under Italian law, export permits from the Superintendency of Cultural Heritage are required for shipments outside Italy, which may take up to six weeks after payment.
6. Buyers are responsible for ensuring purchased items can be legally imported into their country. Czerny’s and its shippers are not liable for additional fees, documentation, delays, or import refusals. Any related costs will be charged to the buyer.
7. This collection comes from outside the EU so importation taxes need to be added to our usual buyer’s premium which is 10% higher for lots 1-228 (lots more than 100 years old) and 22% higher for lots 229-250 (less than 100 years old items)
8. If you have any doubts about an object or do not agree with our terms and conditions (which include the points reiterated above and are accepted by participating in the sale), we kindly ask that you refrain from bidding.
